As a visual artist and part of Blodwen Audrey’s Marketing Communications team in Toronto, I am inspired by our city. Whether I am looking at the architectural design of a home in Leslieville or the bright billboards and lights at Yonge and Dundas square, I can develop new insights. Inspiration is everywhere, and creativity fosters creativity. In the city of Toronto, both of these notions prove true. As a center for arts and culture, the diverse community perpetuates divergent thinking. People are exposed to different cultures, allowing creatives to gain multiple perspectives outside of their own.
As I reflect on some of my creative experiences in Toronto, I recognize a common thread—fearless women. Women who have allowed me to help bring their creative endeavours to life. Working with event planners, visual artists and graphic designers, I have come to appreciate the independent female power around me. To celebrate International Women’s Day, on behalf of Blowen Audrey I have gathered advice from 15 inspiring female creatives in Toronto. While they all differ in their professions, each of them achieves success through passion and drive. As Torontonians, each female derives inspiration from Toronto’s creative hub. So whether you are a student unsure of your creative career path, or a successful entrepreneur, these women will leave you feeling inspired, motivated and empowered.
