Tracey Moore Toronto

Tracey Moore is a content creator with a Tik Tok community of over 60K who look to her for inspiration, empowerment, beauty and style advice. Whether she’s writing about beauty, fashion, entertainment or social justice, she always approaches her work with an inclusive and intersectional lens.

A piece of advice I would give to my younger creative self would be…. “Stop thinking about what I want to be and start thinking about who I want to be. It’s simple, but it embodies exactly what I’d go back and tell that young girl living under a seemingly perpetual cloud of confusion. As a child, I immersed myself in creative arts — whether it was writing stories or poetry or drawing. I was always quiet, so creativity was my escape from a loud and overwhelming world.

But somewhere along the line, I stopped, after being asked the same question over and over again. What do you want to be? Honestly, I wanted to be a fashion designer, and even though that career may not have panned out, I knew deep down I wanted to create. I gave it all up and succumbed to the more realistic, well-beaten path — go to school, get a ‘big girl’ job, and forget about creative pursuits that don’t have a place in the ‘real’ world. I felt this tension inside of me as the cloud of confusion followed me everywhere I went, so I made a decision early on that I would always do work that makes me feel like I’m being true to myself.

I do my best to explore every aspect of myself and see what I can create from it. I try new things, and embrace the opportunities in our changing world. When you think about who you want to be, what you do and the opportunities you attract start to fit the mold of that person. Thinking about who you want to be opens up a world of possibility, encompasses your character, and allows you to think of your development as a lifelong process.”
